We are a family-run, non-registered respite for self-managed and plan-managed individuals. With over 20 years of experience in the disability field, we are dedicated to providing the best service to our clients by taking the time to get to know their needs and interests and accommodating their stay accordingly.
We provide short-term and long-term stays, both regular and irregular, as well as emergency stays.
Personalised excursions and activities are organised daily with cultural and dietary preferences met. We also incorporate educational teachings of basic cooking, cleaning, self-care and other valuable life skills to help build independence.

The residents are superb, the staff are top notch, beds are comfortable, the activities are great and netflix is good. Marc Sarah and Ben are my second family when I come and stay I like to come to respite when I book it.

“What I love about this STA is the homely feel of the environment. It is not stark or sterile like other STA places I have visited. It feels warm and welcoming- a home away from home. Having individual staff for each of my children meant their individual needs can be catered for. I would highly recommend.”

Samantha always looks forward to going to respite.
She has a wonderful time doing the things she loves, supported by friendly, caring and attentive staff.
Samantha receives excellent care, in a very safe and homely, comfortable setting.
All her needs are met and I receive regular updates on how she’s doing, which is very reassuring.

I am so appreciative of the respite short term accommodation provided by North West Melbourne Family Respite which serves to give me and my son a temporary break from the physical, psychological and emotional demands involved in caring for my disabled son.
The respite accommodation and supportive, caring staff offer the best facility for people living with a disability. The staff are committed to provide the best experience possible for parents and children.
The support workers at respite spend time with my child and help him enjoy social activities, participation in the community and general self-care.
I reiterate my gratitude for the caring and supportive staff at North West Melbourne Family Respite for all their efforts.

I was visiting a number of assisted living facilities last month, and was really impressed by the knowledge of this one. They have nurses on staff in addition to normal caregivers.
